LAYERTEC highlighted as a best-practice example in sustainable energy supply

The Thuringian Renewable Energies Network (THEEN) has recognized LAYERTEC as a best-practice company in the field of sustainable heating and cooling supply. THEEN e. V. is a regional network for renewable energies and energy efficiency in Thuringia, Germany, connecting companies, research institutions, and public stakeholders, and supporting knowledge transfer in regional transformation processes.

The basis for this best-practice classification is the expansion of a biogas local heating network and the use of waste heat from a biogas plant to generate cooling via absorption chillers.

The combination of waste heat utilization and efficient cooling generation reduces energy demand and enables a largely renewable heating and cooling supply. The external assessment highlights the effectiveness of the measures implemented at the site to advance sustainable energy supply.
