Active Crystals

In addition to their use as polarization optical devices, crystals in doped form are often used as active media in laser resonators. Due to the variety of available manufacturing technologies, LAYERTEC is able to process a wide range of optically active materials, for example to manufacture retardation plates as desired.

During the polishing process, the thickness of the crystal is removed to an accuracy of a few µm, so that defined phase relationships or rotations of polarization planes can be set. In addition, sufficient measurement technology is available to confirm the optical function on the finished component.
