Lithographically Structured Layers

For special applications, it is necessary to provide only a partial area of an optical component with a coating or even to combine different coating systems on the same surface. Since essentially all common coating systems can be segmented, there is a wide range of possible combinations (dielectric, metallic).

LAYERTEC manufactures structured optics according to customer requirements. The simplest possibility is the coating by a mechanical mask/aperture, whereby the covered area of the surface remains uncoated. The necessary masking can be implemented mechanically or photolithographically, depending on the requirements. For structuring metallic layers (gold, copper, chrome, aluminum, Al₂O₃), the etching process can also be used as an alternative to the lift-off process.
