Climate-neutral solutions in coating technology and the manufacture of optical components (KLIK)

Project description

The project includes the evaluation of the CO₂ footprint and the resources used, the identification of potential savings and a digital database with comprehensive background information on energy and resource efficiency. The project aims to enable the energy-intensive technology sector "optical coating" to save CO₂ and resources in a targeted, sustainable and quality-oriented manner for the first time, to demonstrate methods and thus to take on a pioneering role in the decarbonization of Thuringia’s high technology. LAYERTEC will monitor the energy, water and compressed air consumption of three coating systems (for IAD, magnetron sputtering, IBS) as examples and presents and evaluates the effect of various measures to save resources.
