Project description
The goal of the RYMAX-project is to build a neutral-atom quantum computer with more than 500 Q-bits based on Ytterbium (Yb)-Rydberg-atoms.
LAYERTEC develops low-loss mirrors and spacers for high-finesse cavities. The goal is to achieve finesse values of 400,000 at 1542 nm and of 300,000 at 578 nm by reliable polishing and coating techniques.
The second goal is to develop fused silica glass cells for the trapping and manipulation of Rydberg-atoms. The glass cells are to be suitable for XHV usage and are to have AR coatings for all necessary wavelengths on the inside and outside.
